ITINERARY OVERVIEW

Morning: Pickup & Scenic Hike to Materuni Waterfall

Your driver and guide pick you up from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi. Drive to Materuni Village and meet your local Chagga guide. Enjoy a moderate 40-minute hike through coffee and banana farms to Materuni Waterfall. Relax, take photos, or enjoy a quick dip in the cool pool at the base.

Afternoon: Traditional Chagga Lunch & Coffee Tour

Hike back to the village for a hot, traditional Chagga lunch. Afterwards, join the interactive Chagga Coffee Tour—roast, pound, and grind your own coffee beans while singing local roasting songs, ending with a fresh cup of organic coffee.

OPTIONAL EXTENSION: KIKULETWA (CHEMKA) HOT SPRINGS

For guests who want to turn their outing into an all-day tropical oasis experience, you can extend your tour to Kikuletwa Hot Springs:

  • What to Expect: Drive through dry riverbeds and baobab landscapes to reach a hidden turquoise geothermal lagoon surrounded by fig trees.
  • Activities: Swim in warm, crystal-clear water, use the rope swing, or relax under the shade of massive trees while small fish gently nibble your feet (a natural spa therapy!).
  • Timing: Adds approximately 3–4 hours to your total itinerary before returning to your hotel in the evening.
