Day visit to the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, which is the world’s largest unbroken caldera in the Eastern Great Rift Valley. There is a large population of the wild animals in the crater, including the Big Five animals.

Trip itinerary:

Early morning pick up from the hotel and drive to Ngorongoro Crater where you will descend into the 610m deep Crater floor for game drives. All the Big five rhino, lion, leopard, buffalo and elephant live in this wonderful caldera and many more mammals. Birds include flamingos on the Soda Lake, geese, storks, vultures, and more. Break for lunch at Hippo Pool picnic site.

Ngorongoro Crater is one of the 7 Natural Wonders of Africa. A massive extinct volcano, its towering tree-lined walls drop thousands of feet to a “Noah’s Ark” of animals on the verdant floor below. This breathtaking oasis provides a haven for both predator and prey to live among grasslands, fresh springs, and the large soda lake.

Nowhere else can such a diversity in wildlife be experienced in such a short period of time. Drive back to Arusha, where you will reach around 7pm.
